Owen (my 4 year old) was cleaning up the family room today and it needed to be vacuumed bad. So when he was done picking everything up and putting it away, he asked if he could vacuum.
So, of course I said yes...never too young, right??!! He was so excited that he did it all by himself and he actually did a pretty good job! I think I will need to take advantage of this while he wants to vacuum. Is that bad?
Oh no, no, NO! That's not bad at all. Give him a scrub brush and plastic gloves and let him loose in the bathroom. :) It will be all too soon when he starts complaining about his chores.
Amen to all that's been said. It's good for them learn to help around the house. I sometimes feel guilty when the kids clean the bathroom because that is my least favorite job. But I don't have them do it so I won't have to. I have them do it so they will actually be able to take care of themselves when they're on their own.
I agree with everyone's comments! let them do whatever they are willing to do, you will be fighting them to do chores when they are older!! although last week Josh came up from the basement and said hey mom come check out the basement, i was thinking oh no, what did they build, mess up, etc... well he cleaned it all up by himself without even asking!!
that's awesome that he's helping out so much around the house. he's got a good mama who has taught him well. Also you don't have to have photoshop to do your header, you can use microsoft publisher too, it more user friendly, just a suggestion for those that don't have that software.
I think it's great. My mom started it us as soon as we could walk!:) When my oldest was in the nursery last year, he was always the last one who wanted to leave because he always wanted to do the vacuuming. They let him do it every Sunday. It was his special "thing" with his Nursery leader.
I think you should let them clean whatever, whenever they want to. Teach them young that it's a good thing to clean. Heaven knows that they won't want to clean soon.

Never too early to start. Jaxon loves it when i give him a list of things to do and he is only 3. I say let them do it while they will.

p.s. Do you do all your cute headers with photoshop?

I bought photoshop in January and am still trying to learn all the functions.

Does Owen want to come spend some time at our house? My floors need to be mopped...
How funny! Great job for teaching him how to work!
If only they were always so enthusiastic about it! Ally loves to vacuum now, but I know it probably won't last. But let them eat their hearts out now!
Owen is so cute! I'm going to miss being his teacher!
